  1. Enter your first name, last name and address in the provided areas. Verify your email address by entering the 4-digit code sent to your email.
  2. Select whether you are a BSL user or interpreter. If you select interpreter please enter your postcode, in order to only allow bookings in your area, and your registration number for the organisations that you are registered with.
  3. Enter a profile picture and some information about yourself. A video slot is given if you would prefer to give a short video about yourself in BSL. A profile picture is required. Agree to the Terms and Conditions and click Register.

Enter your email address and select Log in to be sent an email with instructions on logging in. If you have already set a password, you can alternatively log in using your password. If you have forgotten your password, select Forgot Password and enter your email address to be sent an email to reset your password.

The home page shows any bookings made. You can refresh the screen by pulling down on the blue part of the screen.
Click on ‘New booking’ to start creating a new booking for an interpreter. Any bookings made that haven’t been approved by any interpreters can be found in ‘Unconfirmed’, and any approved can be seen in ‘Upcoming’.
Click on ‘All Bookings’ to view all your bookings.

Select the menu icon in the top left corner to view your details, or go to the ‘Home’, ‘Bookings’, ‘Reports’, ‘Profile’, ‘Settings’ or ‘Info’ screens. You can sign out of your account by clicking the ‘Log out’ button at the bottom of the menu.
Clicking on the bell icon in the top right corner allows you to view on all notifications. You will initially see any unread notifications, but clicking on ‘Bookings’, ‘Chat’ or ‘Reminders’ lets you view the notifications for bookings, messages from interpreters or reminders respectively.

New Booking – Detail

Enter the details of your new booking:
‘Booking Title’ – what the booking is for.
‘Description’ – details (either in text or BSL via a video) about the booking. ‘Date/Time’ – when the booking is for.
‘Flexibility’ – whether you need the interpreter for the exact time or if there is some flexibility in the time you need the interpreter for.
‘Duration’ – how long the booking will be.
‘Second interpreter required’ – if you require two interpreters, select this. This is recommended for longer bookings, to allow the interpreters breaks.
‘Virtual booking’ – if the event is taking place online, eg through Zoom, select this.
‘Postcode’ – enter the postcode of the event to only allow the selection of interpreters in your area. select lookup to fill in the details of the address, or enter them in the Address area manually.

Click ‘Next’ to move on.

Select any available interpreters to request them for the event. Set requirements for key skills or familiarity if you have previously booked or selected favourites using the ‘Filters’ button. Search for a interpreter using the magnifying glass button.

Add any necessary documents. Click ‘Remove’ to remove the document. Click ‘Next’ to move on.

Double check your details are all correct in the ‘Summary’, then click ‘Create Booking’ to send a request for the booking to selected interpreters.

After you have created a booking, an invite will be sent out to all the interpreters you selected. They can then review the booking and select their availability. If they say they are available, they can enter an expected cost and leave any notes.

You can see if interpreters have accepted or rejected your invite in the ‘Unconfirmed’ area in the ‘Home’ page, by selecting the booking. You can use the chat feature to converse if needed, and select ‘Confirm booking’ to confirm the booking with that interpreter.

If you need to edit or cancel the booking, click the button in the top right of the screen.

Shows the details of a booking, including the title of the booking, the date and time, the duration of the event, the location, the BSL user and interpreter. You can click on either person to see information about them if they added it to their profile. If a calendar is added in settings then the option to add the booking to calendar is available.

If you select an active check-in then you will receive a notification at the start of the booking to check-in, and one to check out when the booking is complete. If you fail to check out and click the ‘Help!’ button on the booking, an email will be sent to the address you entered, informing them of your location and that you are in trouble.

Clicking ‘checkout’ on the booking in the ‘Home’ page at the end of the booking will confirm the booking has ended.

Shows the location of the booking if the booking is in person. You can look around the map by scrolling.

Clicking ‘Directions’ takes you to your ‘Maps’ app to give directions to the booking. Clicking ‘Booking’ zooms in on the location of the booking. Clicking ‘Me’ zooms in on your location. Selecting ‘Satellite’ changes the type of map.

Allows the user and interpreter to chat before and after the event. You can send photos and short videos. The interpreter can disable the chat for themselves.

If the chat is abusive, you can disable the chat, and a member of admin will check the conversation and take appropriate action.

Any documents added to the booking can be viewed from here. You can add or remove any documents.

Allows you to leave a review of the booking. This is optional, and only you and the admin of SignPort will be able to see this review. You can say if the booking took place, if the booking went well, and leave any notes about the booking.
If you need to report the booking, you can select this option and leave a description of what happened.

If you don’t want to work with this interpreter/user again, you can block them here. If you want to ‘favourite’ them, you can select ‘Favourite this interpreter/user’.
Clicking ‘Save review’ saves the review and sends it to the admin at SignPort. You can go back and change any details after saving.

In ‘Detail’, you can edit all booking details except the title and description if an interpreter has confirmed the booking. Changing any details will require the interpreter to agree to the changes.
In ‘Interpreter’, if you choose to reject the current interpreter, they will see the booking as ‘rejected’, and the booking will be available for other interpreters to accept.

In ‘Summary’, you can see the summary of the booking, including the changes you have made. You are told what will happen next, and you can click ‘Update Booking’ to update the booking.

When you first enter this page, you will see any bookings made for the current day. If you have no bookings that day, you will be told when your next booking is if you have one upcoming, and can select the message to take you to that day. It will also show your previous booking if you have had one, and you can select the message to take you to that day.

Clicking on a booking takes you to the details of that booking.

You can scroll through the days and months, and can change the layout of the calendar by selecting ‘week’ in the top left corner of the screen. If ‘week’ is selected, you can choose between a 12 hour or 24 hour day, with 12 hour being from 8am to 8pm.

Selecting the ‘Today’ button in the top right corner takes you back to the current day.

If you would like to make a new booking for a certain day and time, hold down on that chosen day/time in the week format of the calendar to begin a new booking. Alternatively, you can click on the plus symbol in the top right of the screen to start a new booking, which will start a new booking for the day you were previously on.

You can create reports of previous bookings. You can customise the report using:

‘Report type’ which changes the type of report to either a whole bookings report, weekly report or monthly report.

‘Date range’ which allows you to select the range of dates for the report.

‘Output’ which lets you select whether the report is in a PDF format or a CSV file, which is more suitable for Excel.

‘Send to’ which allows you to either display the report on your screen or send it to your email.

Clicking ‘Generate!’ at the bottom of the screen creates the report.

This screen allows you to edit the details of your account. You can alter ‘First name’, ‘Surname’, ‘About you’ in text form, and upload a different video or profile picture, by selecting the camera icon or the current picture respectively. If you would like to use a different email address, selecting ‘Contact us’ will allow a member of admin to change you email address.

Click ‘Save changes’ at the bottom of the screen to save any changes made.

This allows you to choose which notifications you would like to receive, from new invites, booking changes, chat messages and reminders. There is also a button for managing notification settings, which will take you to the Settings app.

Once you have made any changes, click ‘Save changes’ at the bottom of the ‘Settings’ screen.

‘Security’ allows you to set up a Face ID (if your phone allows it), select to use a password to login, and change that password. It also has the option to use a different email address for checking in to a booking. This allows an email to be sent to this email address if you don’t check out of a booking.

Once you have made any changes, click ‘Save changes’ at the bottom of the ‘Settings’ screen.

‘Calendar’ allows you to add bookings to your phone’s calendar. You can choose to add bookings automatically, add a reminder for your booking for 15, 30 or 60 minutes before, or show non-SignPort events in the bookings week view. You can also set the default bookings calendar to day-view (the current setting) or week-view. There is a button for managing calendar app settings, which will take you to the Settings app.

Once you have made any changes, click ‘Save changes’ at the bottom of the ‘Settings’ screen.

‘General’ contains information on the app version, server address, server ping and app ID.

Once you have made any changes, click ‘Save changes’ at the bottom of the ‘Settings’ screen.

‘Manage Blocked/Favourites’ allows you to block certain interpreters from being sent invites to your bookings, or add them to your favourites list, so they will be the first interpreters shown available.

To add to the ‘Blocked’ list, click ‘Add interpreter to blocked’ at the bottom of the screen, and type in their name exactly.

To add to your ‘Favourites’ list, select ‘Favourites’ at the top right of the screen, then ‘Add interpreter to favourites’ and type in their name exactly.

If you would like to remove an interpreter from either list, click ‘Remove’.

Once you have made any changes, click ‘Save changes’ at the bottom of the ‘Settings’ screen.

‘Manage documents’ which lets you add any documents that you want added to any bookings – you can also add documents when you are making the booking.

‘My Organisations’ shows any organisations you have joined, and allows you to join any by entering a code given to you by an organisation.
